Orpyca grew out of a simple conviction: a public body’s records management is institutional memory, and institutional memory should not depend on a licensing contract. That is why the software is free and the code is open.

We took up the work of Orfeo, which has served institutions across Latin America for more than twenty years, and rebuilt it with today’s technology without throwing away two decades of archival knowledge.
